What will I learn?

Many workplace problems can be traced back to miscommunication. Great communication skills will help you to be an effective manager, team leader or team member, as well as helping you build good relationships with customers and clients.

This practical and interactive course will help you identify your own communication styles and strengths. The workshop will help you develop your skills in communicating with empathy, flexibility, and confidence.

You will learn how to:

  • Understand your personal preferred communication style and that of others
  • Adapt your style to communicate more effectively in different situations and with different people
  • Develop your listening and questioning skills
  • Increase the impact of the words you use
  • Appreciate the importance and impact of non-verbal communication
  • Select the most appropriate communication methods for a situation
  • Identify barriers to effective communication and how to overcome them

    This course is for people who would like to build their confidence and ability to communicate skilfully in a professional context.

    Entry Requirements Age

    Applicants must be 19+ on the start date of the course in order to apply/enrol on the course.

    Due to funding restrictions this course is not available to:

    · Existing full time Sparsholt College/Andover College students aged 16, 17 or 18 (or 19-24 with an EHCP) on the 31/8 in the year they started/start their course
    · Learners aged 19-24 with an EHCP
